Creating Image Rollovers

Creating simple rollover buttons is a snap in Fireworks MX®.

1. Just create your button in Fireworks MX® using whichever tools you need to do the job.
   
2. Draw a marquee around the button using the select tool (arrow).
   
3. On your keyboard select CTRL + C to copy the button to your clipboard.
   
4. Create a new FRAME using the frames menu. See creating a new frame by clicking here.
   
5. With your cursor in the new frame select CTRL + V on the keyboard to paste the button into the new frame.
   
6. Change the color of the button so it will appear to change when the viewer mouse's over it on your web page.
   
7. Now slice the button. See Creating Slices by clicking here.
   
8. Select the slice with the select tool. A small circle with cross hairs appears in the center of the slice. This is known as the behavior control.
   
9. Select the behavior control.
   
10. In the dropdown box that appears select ADD SIMPLE ROLLOVER BEHAVIOR.
    
11. When you export your button select the HTML option so the JavaScript and images are created.
